The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has appointed six new directors for the trade body’s council at the organisation’s annual general meeting today.

The appointments were based on votes cast over the last few weeks.

Simon Conington, managing director of BPS World, Karen Davison-Renouf, MD of C&D Group, Steven Street, group MD of Cubed Resourcing and Jane Withey, MD of Quay People, were elected to represent corporate members.

Marshall Evans, director of Staffline Recruitment Group, and Amanda Franks, director of Frankly Recruitment, were elected to represent members of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP).

They replace Neil Smith, MD of Kinetic, Greg Latham, MD of Encore Personnel and Tracy Evans, director, Pertemps. Marshall Evans had to stand down due to rotation but was re-elected.

There were an additional two free spaces on the council due to members Chris Kenny, former director at Levy Associates, and Katy Forsyth, director of Red Recruitment, standing down earlier in the year.

The council consists of 17 directors representing corporate members and seven directors representing individual members of the IRP, appointed either by the members at the AGM or, if vacancies occur throughout the year, by the council itself. One quarter of the directors stand down each year at the meeting, and any member can be nominated for election.
