Short-break holiday company Center Parcs has said it will create 1,750 jobs if it gains permission for a new site in Ireland.

In a statement, the company said 750 construction jobs would be required for building the attraction at a 375-acre site at Newcastle Wood in County Longford. It added that 1,000 permanent jobs would be created when it opened.
The holiday village could open in 2019, depending on planning permission.
