Fri, 13 Mar 2015Property staffing specialist ICS Recruitment has removed a job ad containing an image from edgy comedy film Secretary from its social media accounts following a wave of protest from Twitter users.
The Guardian reports the ad, placed last week, that was meant to promote a secretarial role, depicted the film’s star Maggie Gyllenhaal bending over in a mini skirt, accompanied by the tag line ‘Secretary required in Mayfair. Stockings optional! £35k. Ready to assume the position?’
Following protest posts on Twitter, including one post that quipped Gyllenhaal was bending over probably to look for sexual harassment forms, ICS removed the ad and replaced it with an ad to coincide with International Woman’s Day on Sunday (8 March).
ICS did not respond to Recruiter’s attempts to contact the company.
The new ad included a meme image featuring the text: “He asked, ‘What’s your favourite position?’ I said: ‘CEO’.”
