Fri, 27 Mar 2015Laundrapp, the on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning app, is stealing a march on April Fool’s Day by advertising for a sensory analyst – a laundry sniffer in layman’s terms.
Heading up a new team of laundry sniffers, each item cleaned by Laundrapp will be sniffed before and after cleaning to guarantee the ‘laundry fresh’ fragrance is delivered back to customers.
Ed Relf, chief executive of Laundrapp, explains: “Smell is the most powerful of the senses … We are looking for a nose that could find a lost sock in a dark room and know their brie from their cheddar. We won’t settle for less than the best beak in the business.”
According to the online ad, applicants needn’t worry that sniffing thousands of garments will lead to sensory overload as Laundrapp will provide “in-office aromatherapy and regular sinus-rinsing to keep your schnozz up to the job”.
At Recruiter, we nose our stuff and feel we can smell an opportunity a mile off, which is not to be sneezed at – [Ed: right, enough with the nasal puns]
And the deadline for applications for this role? When else but 1 April.
