Thu, 12 Feb 2015Bourne Leisure, whose brands include Haven Holidays, Butlins and Warner, is aiming for its new recruitment portal to cut candidate time-to-hire by two weeks, according to the manager who worked on the project, Kate Miller.

Earlier this week, the firm announced it had replaced its previous jobsite with a new careers portal. The portal received more than 4,000 applications in January, largely due to Haven Holidays, which is currently recruiting for its 2015 season across its 35 UK holiday parks.

To simplify and speed up the recruitment process, applicants can now search for a job via location, job type, skill type and brand.

Current team members can also search the designated internal section of the portal to support their career development and progression throughout the company.

For hiring managers, the portal is a self-service tool which is pre-populated with a bank of job descriptions, email templates and allows them to manage the recruitment process from application to interview to offer or decline.

Miller, who joined Haven in June 2013, had experience of installing a similar system at David Lloyd Leisure.

She told Recruiter the new system gives recruiting managers the ability to post a role in less than five minutes.

“The old way would have required a form to have been completed, authorised, then sent to a third party and posted, which could have been hours if not days because of the amount of interaction and dependence on others replying and dependent on others workload.

“I know that offers have already been made, and our selection days have started. The system is too new to be able to show an average as we are still very much in the middle of our recruitment for our seasonal teams,” she added.

“It is our aim to be able to reduce the whole recruitment journey to a minimum of 14-28 days.”
