Tue, 27 Jan 2015International specialist recruiter SThree is to expand its Chicago office by 30%, according to chief executive Gary Elden.

Commenting on the group’s final results for the year ended 30 November 2014, Elden told analysts yesterday [26 January], the IT sector within the US represents one of SThree’s “biggest potential” growth markets in 2015, adding the group has doubled its office space in San Francisco, Houston and Boston, while signing a lease to double its space in New York as well.

Speaking to Recruiter after yesterday’s results, Elden said the performance of the group’s US operations means its Chicago operation, which has around 40 employees recruiting banking and life sciences professionals, is also set to grow both in terms of office space and headcount.

“We have been there [Chicago] for around three years now. We’re going to expand that by 30%. We have the possibility of getting an extension in that building.

“That was one of our best performing offices last year,” he added.
