Fri, 23 Jan, 2015A graduate, who advertised himself for hire at Waterloo station, landing himself a job as a recruitment consultant, returned to the scene this week to attract new recruits to his company.
Last August, Matt Churchward, director at multi-sector recruiter Asoria Group and regular blogger for Recruiter, passed Alfred Ajani wearing a placard at London’s Waterloo station and subsequently contacted the graduate via LinkedIn and asked him to come in for a meeting.
Ajani told Recruiter he met with directors of the company and liked what he heard. He was subsequently hired and is enjoying his new role.
“It’s better than I expected. I’m still here and I love the team,” he said.
Ajani explained he returned to Waterloo station this week, armed with a new placard, to help the firm’s plans to expand its business.
“We’ve got plans to grow internally. We have a 100% growth rate and our retention rate is pretty high.
“After the six months probation we have a 98% retention rate so our consultants love working here,” he added.
“We are trying to grow each of the brands, so we’re looking for 20 new consultants this year to expand each of the sectors we’re working in.”
