Older workers’ champion Ros Altmann’s next employer advisory group meeting to tackle over 50s unemployment is to take place next week.

Altmann was appointed last summer by the Department for Work and Pensions as older workers tsar to address the problem of unemployment among over 50s.
Following her appointment Altmann has assembled a group of employers and experts to help her in this task.
Current members of the group include employers National Express, Steelite, Mercer, Legal and General, and Anchor.
Trade bodies represented include the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion, the CBI and Business in the Community.
Altmann told Recruiter the advisory group’s next meeting will take place on 13 January with current minister of state for employment Esther McVey in attendance.
