FINANCIALS: Kelly Services posts profit

US-listed global staffing agency Kelly Services has announced a 3.2% increase (constant currency) in gross profit (GP) to US$908.4m (£600.3m) for the year ended 28 December 2014.

Its unaudited results also earnings from operations were down – almost 60% down from $53.3m to $21.9m.

Aside from the Asia Pacific region (APAC), GP increased in all regions the company operates in, led by the Americas which saw a 2.6% (constant currency) increase in GP to $535.5m.

GP in APAC fell 1.4% (constant currency) to $60.2m.

Earnings from operations were down 15.9% to $88.7m in the Americas and down 11% in APAC to $2.5m.

They were, however, up in the EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] region, by 5.5% to $12.1m.

According to a company statement, it incurred restructuring costs of £12m over the year.

The company also released its Q4 results, for the quarter ended 28 December, which show a 3.4% (constant currency) increase in GP to $232.6m.
