Council set to pay £60k for recruitment of senior managers

Herefordshire Council has earmarked £60k for the recruitment of permanent senior figures, according to a report.

A report, due to be considered on Wednesday (14 January) by the council’s employment panel, discusses recruitment for the posts of director of resources, with a primary responsibility for finance; director of adults and wellbeing; director of public health; and assistant director – adults commissioning.
The salaries to be considered by the panel potentially range from about £90k to £120k.
The council has been using interims to cover the positions but was seeking permanent replacements for “stability and continuity”.
The report, written by chief executive Alistair Neill, said there would be a total cost of £60k or £10-15k per role for the recruitment campaign and use of specialist agencies to “source good quality candidates”.
The campaign is expected to launch next month (February) with anticipated start dates for successful candidates ranging from June to September.
