Most recruiters don’t employ people on ‘pay between assignment contracts’

Most recruitment agencies (67%) do not find work for individuals employed on a pay between assignment (PBA) contract, according to research conducted by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills.

The report, ‘Agency workers research, pay between assignment survey’, which compiled responses from 129 members of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, found the most common reasons for agencies not using individuals on PBA contracts were that there had been no request from the client and it was not the correct business model for them.

Meanwhile, the most common reasons given by some of the 33% of agencies that do employ people on PBA contracts were that the client requested it and the umbrella companies they worked with chose to use PBA contracts.
