Recruitment company’s former Singapore-based director jailed for road rage
A former director of recruitment company Henderson Scott has been sentenced to jail following a road rage incident in Singapore.
British motorcyclist James Palin was found guilty of punching and shattering a window of a Volkswagon, injuring the two occupants, on 16 November last year and was sentenced to three weeks in jail, the Straits Times reports.
When contacted, Palin told Recruiter he wished the incident had never happened, he had apologised to the driver and passenger numerous times, and he wanted to get on with his life.
Despite the Straits Times report saying he was appealing the sentence and is out on $15k (£7.3k) bail, he told Recruiter he had not yet decided whether to appeal.
A Henderson Scott spokesperson said: “James was employed by Henderson Scott in Singapore and we were made aware of a road traffic incident that he was involved in. Until today, we were unaware of the severity of the situation or any specific details.
“James resigned from Henderson Scott in July 2014 and is therefore no longer an employee. We have no further details or comment to make regarding this.”
