PM appoints Manzoni head of Civil Service

Prime Minister David Cameron yesterday (2 October) appointed James Manzoni the first chief executive of the Civil Service.

According to a government statement, his new role will include “ensuring we have the best people with the right skills in the civil service”.

He is currently CEO of the Major Projects Authority, and will start his new role on 13 October.

Government plans to re-wire the state with civil servant moves

Thousands of civil servants – including senior leaders – will be based in 13 towns and cities across the UK to work with frontline workers and local leaders.
