Low Pay Commission visits Glasgow

The Low Pay Commission (LPC), which is to advise the Government on the minimum wage and its impact on businesses and employers, is visiting Glasgow on Tuesday and Wednesday before ending its road trip in London in November.

Commissioners Bob Elliott and Neil Carberry will meet a number of organisations in Glasgow to hear first-hand what impact the National Minimum Wage is having in these areas.
“We are keen to understand the impact of the minimum wage, youth and apprentice rates in Glasgow and to meet with those affected,” said Elliott.
The commission has already taken in visits to Merseyside, Northern Ireland, Southampton, Wales, Suffolk, Norfolk and Yorkshire.
Results from each visit will help make up the annual report which is submitted to the Government in Spring 2015.
