Fri, 19 Sep 2014Cuso International is recruiting 150 Canadian citizens to observe parliamentary elections in Ukraine at the end of October.

The agency, which usually places volunteers on projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, said volunteer election observers will be deployed for a short-term placement and applicants need to be available for a 10-day stretch beginning 20 October. Deadline for applications is 26 September.

"We have more than 53 years of solid experience in recruiting, selecting and supporting volunteers to work in development and governance projects,” said Cuso chief executive Derek Evans.

Earlier this year, Cuso International was involved in supporting the recruitment and deployment of election volunteers to observe the presidential elections in Ukraine held in late May.
