BP today [2 September] launched a recruitment campaign to find 30 candidates for its 2015 Future Leaders Programme, aimed to fast-track young people to become business leaders of the future.

BP today [2 September] launched a recruitment campaign to find 30 candidates for its 2015 Future Leaders Programme, aimed to fast-track young people to become business leaders of the future.
It is a global recruitment and development programme that will see the candidates work in the international oil & gas company’s refining and marketing business, and safety & operational risk and information technology & services functions for a minimum of three years.
The candidates, who are required to have a postgraduate qualification, at least three years’ professional experience, a global outlook and ambition for senior leadership, will receive mentoring, a real business role and an overseas placement.
A statement issued on behalf of the company today said last year 4,000 people from around the world applied for the programme, which started three years ago.
It also said the company needs a “high calibre” workforce to deliver its products, which is why it has such an “extensive recruitment programme” to attract not only experienced individuals already working in the industry, but new graduates too.
In the statement, BP group marketing manager Rita Griffin said the company was looking for people with a “global perspective and flexibility to work anywhere in the world … we want candidates with an open mind, who have the drive and ambition to be the next generation leaders within BP”.
People who have completed the programme have gone on to work in roles such as a petrochemical engineer in China or a fuel supply co-ordinator in Germany, for example.
Applications close 31 October.
