The number of US job opening rose by 4.5m in April, a 6.9% increase from 4.2m in March, according to the latest figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The number of US job opening rose by 4.5m in April, a 6.9% increase from 4.2m in March, according to the latest figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The job openings rate, a measure of job openings compared with total employment, rose to 3.1% in April from 2.9% in March.
The number of hires was flat from March at 4.7m, and the number of separations including those who had left jobs, layoffs and discharges, edged up only 0.1% to roughly 4.5m.
