US DoL makes $1.9m available to improve employment outcomes for disabled

The US Department of Labour’s (DoLs) Office of Disability Employment Policy has made available a $1.9m (£1.1m) grant to fund an agreement to manage and operate the National Employer Policy, Research and Technical Assistance Centre on the Employment of People with Disabilities.

The US Department of Labour’s (DoLs) Office of Disability Employment Policy has made available a $1.9m (£1.1m) grant to fund an agreement to manage and operate the National Employer Policy, Research and Technical Assistance Centre on the Employment of People with Disabilities.

The centre will increase the commitment and capacity of employers to recruit, hire, retain and advance people with disabilities by:

  1. analysing employer research, policies and practices related to disability employment
  2. researching effective employer engagement strategies
  3. developing and providing outreach and technical assistance to targeted employers, such as federal agencies, federal contractors, small businesses and state governments.

Government plans to re-wire the state with civil servant moves

Thousands of civil servants – including senior leaders – will be based in 13 towns and cities across the UK to work with frontline workers and local leaders.
