A company spokesperson tells Recruiter that the first of the new shops in Ilford (Essex), Perry Bar (Birmingham) and Fulham (London) have already opened, with the rest due to open by the end of the year.
Each shop employs between six and eight staff, says the spokesperson. All applications will be made through Vodafone’s careers website. The spokesperson says that some existing staff will be expected to transfer to new shops.
The news is a welcome boost for Britain’s beleaguered high streets. As recruiter.co.uk reported earlier this week, 8.2% of high-street recruitment agencies closed in 2013, driven by changing client and candidate demands and the rise of online recruitment.
