City jobs growth predicted

The number of people working in the City [of London] is predicted to rise to almost half a million over the next decade, according to a new study.

The report by economics consultancy Oxford Economics predicts that City job numbers will rise by 9% to 485,400 by 2023.

Financial services will remain the largest employer in 2023, with more than 166,000 staff, followed by professional services 148,600 up by 30,000.

NHS Trust plans to cut jobs and agency staff

The BBC reports today [30 April 2025] that the North-West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is planning job cuts, as well as cutting its expenditure on bank and agency staff.
