South Africa: China mining consortium project lead to more than 3,000 jobs

The Bakubung platinum mine in Ledig, outside Rustenburg in South Africa, is expected to create 3,135 jobs at full production.

The R10.69bn (£606m) project involves a Chinese investor consortium made up of Jinchuan and China Africa Development Fund (CADFund) holding a 45% interest in the company.

The Bakubung platinum mine development project officially launched on 4 July 2011.
