Following the deaths earlier this month, the paper reports that in an effort to placate the families of the dead jobseekers, Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan issued a directive that three family members should be given jobs with the Nigerian Immigration Service, with one of the three being a woman.

The president also cancelled the recruitment exercise.
