Travelodge has announced plans to open 15 new hotels as part of a £100m investment, creating 1,000 jobs across the country.

The hotel openings, modernisation programme and ongoing business development will lead to a range of new jobs, including hotel management roles, reception, restaurant and customer service teams, and guest room cleaners.

Travelodge is continuing its expansion beyond its traditional roadside hotel network into more city centre and leisure locations.

Five new hotels will open in London, where the company now has 65 hotels. Further hotels will open in key city centre locations in Glasgow, Manchester and Southampton, and seaside destinations including the Isle of Wight.

NHS Trust plans to cut jobs and agency staff

The BBC reports today [30 April 2025] that the North-West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is planning job cuts, as well as cutting its expenditure on bank and agency staff.
