Web, 12 Feb 2014Career progression is the key driver in motivating a Singapore professional to look for a new job, says the latest Singapore job seeker survey by international recruiter Morgan McKinley.
The two factors looming largest in career progression considerations for Singapore professionals are increase in overall package and greater responsibility, such as for more countries or a larger headcount.
Other workplace issues that could persuade a Singapore professional to seek a job change included problems or dissatisfactions such as organisational change or restructuring, a desire to relocate, scope of the job, end of project or termination of contract, work-life balance, company culture and ethical issues.
A small percentage – 12% – of the 1,537 respondents said that dissatisfaction with their basic salary was the sole motivating factor behind their desire to leave their current jobs.
The survey taken in January investigated the current outlook, job satisfaction and expectations with regard to career progression of Morgan McKinley’s professional job seekers across a range of sectors and disciplines.
