Global talent solutions company Hudson announced global revenue of $660.1m (£397m) for the year-end 31 December 2013, a decrease of 15.1% from 2012.

Fourth quarter revenue totalled $159.5m, a decrease of 13.4% from Q4 2012.

Sequentially, from the third quarter of 2013 to the fourth quarter of 2013, revenue was down 2.5%, as compared with a decline of 1.9% for the same period in 2012.

Gross margin for Hudson’s European division decreased 13% in 2013 compared with 2012, driven by declines in the UK on weaker results from the higher margin Legal eDiscovery practice.

Permanent recruitment gross margin declined in 2013 compared with 2012, as a result of reduced client demand in the UK, particularly in the legal and IT sectors.
