Thu, 27 Feb 2014Capita, the provider of business process management and integrated professional support service solutions, says that operating profit and margin for year-end 31 December 2013 rose by 11% to £516.9m (2012: £466.7m).
However, net profit was down 22.8% to £177.2m from 2012's figure of £229.4m.
Full-year 2013 underlying revenue, on an ongoing basis, increased by 15% to £3.85m compared with 2012’s figure of £3.35m.
Contract wins worth £3.3bn were down on 2012 (£4bn), but Capita secured its largest ever contract win by annual value with Telefónica UK (O2), worth £1.2bn over 10 years.
Andy Parker, deputy chief executive of Capita, says: “As a consequence of the sales successes, along with the acquisitions completed over the previous 12 months, we have excellent revenue visibility and the ingredients to deliver strong growth in 2014.”
The company says it has had a strong start to the year, with £588m worth of new contract wins, including a £145m contract with Transport for London to deliver the congestion charge and traffic enforcement schemes, and a £325m framework contract for Scottish Wide Area Network.
In November, Capita announced that Parker would succeed Paul Pindar as CEO in March.
