The government is planning a research programme to look at the potential of providing guaranteed employment for those who have been receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance for one or two years.

The research will look at the merits of schemes designed to provide guaranteed employment for 18-to-24-year-olds who have been in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance for one and two years, and those aged 25 and over that have been getting Jobseeker’s Allowance for one or two years.
The research programme is part of a bill that has just been introduced into the House of Commons for consideration. The second reading will take place on the 24 January 2014.
