Mon, 9 Dec 2013An expanded cohort of 17 companies represents the recruitment industry on this year’s The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list of fast-growing private firms.

This group is up from 13 recruiters on the list last year and 14 in 2011. And, impressively, 10 of this year’s fast-growing recruiters are in the top half of the table, compared with four last year and seven in 2011.

The recruitment firms listed with their overall rank are:
  • 8: World Recruitment Solutions (technical specialist)
  • 13: ERSG (energy)
  • 28: Hanson Regan (SAP)
  • 29: High Finance (insurance – 62 in 2012)
  • 31: Oliver James Associates (financial services – 50 in 2012; its fourth year of inclusion)
  • 36: Astute Technical Recruitment (technical)
  • 37: ConSol Partners (IT – 25 in 2012)
  • 39: La Fosse Associates (IT and executive)
  • 44: Uniting Ambition (multi-sector – 55 in 2012; since rebranded from Assured Recruitment)
  • 47: Roc Search (IT and engineering – 71 in 2012)
  • 54: Opus Recruitment Solutions (IT – 64 in 2012)
  • 57: Optimus Search (algorithm development for semiconductor industry)
  • 65: eResponse Recruitment (multi-sector)
  • 67: Wilton & Bain (executive)
  • 84: Hallam Medical (medical – 30 in 2012)
  • 90: Igloo (automotive and transport & logistics - 79 in 2012)
  • 99: ID Medical (medical)

Also representing the recruitment industry was payroll provider Nasa Umbrella, in 86th position.

Mark Kingston, assistant director of human capital sector at M&A advisory house Boxington, comments: “Another impressive showing from the recruitment sector with 17 firms on the 2013 Fast Track. The strong representation of specialist recruiters in the IT, finance and healthcare sectors reflects the previous successes of specialist recruiters in our own growth league, the Recruiter FAST 50.”

This annual FAST 50 league of fast-growing recruitment firms in Recruiter is compiled by Boxington, with the 2014 list coming out in the January edition of the magazine. While there is a certain amount of crossover between the two lists, a key difference is that the FAST 50 assesses larger firms that generate more than £5m in sales in each year, compared with the £250k entry level for the Fast Track.
