UK oil & gas recruiter Oil Consultants has partnered with Abu Dhabi oilfield services firm Al Ghaith, who will work as an agent for the recruiter as it looks to further expand its Middle East offering.
While it offers the service to a total of 55 international companies of different types, alongside its main oilfield services business, Oil Consultants is the sole recruitment company Al Ghaith will be working to provide introductions, facilitate contacts with clients and support the regional expansion.
Oil Consultants is looking to open a Dubai office in early 2014, with Gareth Allen, the company’s business development and delivery director for the region, saying it would also hope to expand in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, where Al Ghaith also operates.
Allen tells recruiter.co.uk that the firm has previously operated in all three markets for over a decade, but serviced them remotely. Its expansion also saw it open an office in Houston last month.
He also says that working through a local agent is a practical necessity in the country, as obtaining a trade licence in the UAE is difficult. Allen comments that NES Global Talent is the last recruiter he knows of that managed it.
