Tue, 29 Oct 2013IT and oil & gas recruiter Opus Recruitment Solutions has launched talentcubed, a social networking platform designed to connect university students with potential employers.

Students registering on the platform can share a personal profile highlighting abilities, careers goals and interests as well as university modules and grades. Talentcubed is open to students studying in all disciplines, rather than just in the specific areas where Opus recruits.

Students will also be able to take part in online virtual simulations created by relevant companies and look at their vacancies, as well as at vacancies supplied by other recruitment firms who have already joined.

The service is free for both employers and individuals to register.

An Opus spokesperson tells recruiter.co.uk that the scope of talentcubed is broader than the recruitment firm’s own IT and oil & gas remit, and that the company has created the product as a long-term strategy and has yet to decide how it might be developed as numbers swell.

Having launched at the end of last month, talentcubed now has just over 2,000 users. The initial focus is on students at Russell Group universities, and on larger graduate employers.

This year has also seen Opus launch a senior appointments consultancy, Baltimore Consulting Group.

Opus was ranked 71st the 2012 Recruiter HOT 100, ranking the UK recruitment firms with the greatest gross profit per employee. The upcoming 2013 HOT 100 is sponsored by Flo Software Solutions and supported by RBS.
