Tue, 29 Oct 2013International engineering and project management firm AMEC is to create more than 300 skilled jobs in its Clean Energy Europe business, based in the North West of England.

The recruitment drive will focus on its nuclear business, the company says, with roles including safety consultants, project managers and mechanical and electrical engineers. The news comes after the announcement by AMEC of 300 new jobs in Kuwait, late last year.

Clean Energy Europe has already created 250 jobs this year, its president Clive White says.

White adds that a “key priority” for the firm is developing its emerging talent programmes, including expanded apprenticeship and graduate schemes, and introducing retraining schemes to “develop available talent from other business sectors”.

“Growing the skills for the future has become part of our daily business,” he says.
