American Staffing Index untouched in shutdown weeks

The shutdown ran from 1 to 16 October and had ramifications reaching as far as US civilian workers based in the UK, and also share prices in the recruitment sector and beyond.

Yesterday (22 October) saw the release of the index for the week ending 13 October, which stood at 100, one point down on the previous week, and five points higher than the same week in the previous years.

The index for the week ending 6 October, at 101, was also higher than the 95 points seen in that same week in 2012.

Data for the week ending 20 October is due to be released next Tuesday (29 October).
