Dress for Success London, whose patrons include actress and comedian Jennifer Saunders, and which has received support from A-listers Sophie Dahl and Rachel Weisz, as well as Samantha Cameron and various other celebrities, is now known as Smart Works.

The charity has launched a website and is due to open a West London office in addition to its existing base in North London, and chief executive officer Delyth Evans says the new name “marks an important period of growth… [and] grants us the freedom to build our relationships right across the UK to help low-income women to the very best of our ability”.

The charity helps around 1,200 jobseeker clients every year, around 45% of whom are single mothers, and in the past year has taken referrals from organisations including various charities, colleges, jobcentres, NHS trusts, welfare-to-work providers and other private businesses and social enterprises, as listed on the Smart Works website.
