World’s oldest football club gets recruitment firm gap personnel as sponsor

Industrial labour provider gap personnel has become the recruitment sector partner and an official sponsor of Sheffield FC, recognised as the world’s oldest football club.

The club, which plays in the Evo-Stik League Division One South, on the eighth step of the English football league pyramid, will be sponsored by gap for the 2013/14 season which starts next month.
Founded in 1857, Sheffield FC is one of only two clubs to hold the ‘Order of Merit’ from world football governing body FIFA – the other being Real Madrid.
Other sporting sponsorships from gap include its support of World Snooker Championship semi-finalist Ricky Walden, and its ownership, as of 2008, of the Welsh football club now known as gap Connah’s Quay Nomads.
