Blue collar recruiter Encore Personnel and IT staffing firm Steria Recruitment both saw upturns in turnover in the year to 31 December 2012.

Encore Personnel
The company saw revenues grow 3.5% year-on-year to £25.85m in 2012, with gross profit up by a slightly higher proportion to £5m.
However, profit figures were down, “due mainly to investment in organic growth through increased staffing levels”, from £733k in 2011 to £598k, show the firm’s results, filed in Companies House.
The firm’s largest growth sector was engineering, where revenues were up 13%.
In a year that saw the introduction of Pensions Auto-Enrolment and Real Time Information legislation have seen the company invest “heavily in IT and client engagement to ensure a smooth introduction [of the new systems]” but forecasts no reduction in margins.
Encore also says sales for Q1 2013 have been 20% higher than the same period of 2012.
Steria Recruitment
Turnover was up 6.8% to £95.22m, while profit after taxation rose by nearly 50%, jumping from £2.54m in the previous year to £3.75m.
According to the firm’s annual report, filed in Companies House, “the UK recruitment market remains volatile with no key drivers for growth in demand”.
The report also states that “all client agreements that expired in 2012 were successfully renewed”, while it also secured business with 24 new clients, and increased its external contractor cohort by 51.
