Wed, 15 May 2013Electronics giant Sharp is urging students to get their think caps on, and #GetItDownOnPaper, to win a paid, two-month summer internship at the company’s Oxford research and design centre.

The competition is open to any students with an interesting solution to an everyday problem, Sharp says, which could be as wide-ranging as helping people get out of bed or cutting their energy usage.

Hopefuls need to sketch their idea, take a photo of their sketch and share it on Twitter with the hashtag #GetItDownOnPaper by 27 May. A panel of judges will select three finalists, who will also be interviewed by Humans Invent, an online innovation magazine operated in partnership with Sharp.

In February, recruiter.co.uk reported on another innovative Twitter-based effort to engage with student talent, this time from FMCG firm Mars, offering free products from a special vending machine.
