Mon, 13 May 2013Stefan Ciecierski tells Recruiter there was “nothing dramatic” behind his departure with immediate effect from the board of recruitment consultancy Nakama Group. He had been with the company since August 2010.

Nakama chair Ken Ford tells Recruiter he had nothing to add to the statement made on Friday [10 May] afternoon, which had not been pre-announced or scheduled. Ciecierski also says the split occurred “quite amicably”, adding: “There isn’t really anything more to say.”

There were no plans to hire a new group-wide chief executive officer in the company statement.

Rob Sheffield, the managing director of Nakama Asia-Pacific as of almost exactly 12 months, and Paul Goodship, MD of Nakama London, will be promoted to the board pending due administrative formalities.

Announcing its results for the six months to 30 September of last year, in November, the company said that fund mismanagement and misappropriation had caused the recruiter to lose £120k, leaving a net profit of just £11k. Nakama was taken over by Highams in September 2011, which then rebranded itself as Nakama.

Ciecierski tells Recruiter that after 30 years’ recruitment experience, of which he has been “building and growing businesses” for 28, “I don’t intend to stop doing that”.
