Consulting, technology and outsourcing firm Capgemini is to create up to 500 new jobs in the Scottish Highlands as part of a plan to make Inverness one of the firm’s main global centres of excellence for advanced IT.
The plan is supported by the Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and the Scottish Development International.
Capgemini is seeking experienced IT professionals, new graduates in all subjects and school leavers interested in apprenticeship roles.
The company also plans to engage with undergraduates considering an IT career, and is establishing especially strong links with the University of the Highlands and Islands in Inverness.
The Capgemini Inverness workforce will reach 1000 by 2016. Another 500 are already employed elsewhere in Scotland, and a further 7,000 elsewhere in the UK.
