Jobs Watch: Farmers and grocers
The final Jobs Watch of the week sees employment growth in a new horticulture and agriculture industry programme at HOPS, and at online groceries supplier Ocado.
HOPS
The fully-owned subsidiary of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, HOPS, will create 200 new jobs across the country as part of a new pilot.
The opportunities across HOPS client farms are for free training on the job, with pay during training between £200 and £450 a week, and a guaranteed job at the end of the course.
Ocado
Announcing significant sales growth in 2012, the online grocer says it will be opening a second fulfilment centre in Dordon, Warwickshire.
Despite announcing net losses, albeit smaller than previously at £600k for the year, the company will still be creating over 1,000 jobs in the Midlands when the centre opens this month.
