Singapore, currently the third most popular city in the world as a talent destination, is likely to “become more popular than New York within the next few years”, according to talent analytics firm Intelligence Group.

Singapore, currently the third most popular city in the world as a talent destination, is likely to “become more popular than New York within the next few years”, according to talent analytics firm Intelligence Group.
It notes that in 2011, 107m people in the global workforce would consider the city as a place to move for work – London was ranked second, and New York first. Singapore had sat in sixth position in 2009.Singapore is also by far the most popular Asian city to work in, with Shanghai the second most popular, ranked 11th.
As a country, Singapore is the seventh most popular to work and live in, ahead of Asian rivals Malaysia (14th) and China (17th).
As with Silicon Valley potential talent, according to Intelligence Group as reported by recruiter.co.uk yesterday (11 December), the majority of the potential Singaporean workforce live in India (34%) and China (30%), followed by Indonesia (22%).
