Auto maker Chrysler Group is considering an investment of $162m (£100m) and 1,350 new jobs in Indiana, while further employment opportunities are set to open up in Kentucky and Utah.

Auto maker Chrysler Group is considering an investment of $162m (£100m) and 1,350 new jobs in Indiana, while further employment opportunities are set to open up in Kentucky and Utah.

Chrysler Group’s investment would see 850 people hired once the Getrag Transmission plant in Tipton County, which was never completed, has been bought up to scratch, while in nearby Kokomo the firm is investigating another potential investment to bring 500 further jobs, reports the Indianapolis Star.

Meanwhile utahpulse.com notes that the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah), alongside the governor’s office of economic development, has announced three project wins that will bring 819 jobs to the state: 655 at learning technology system Instructure, a firm native to Utah, and a further 104 and 60 at aerospace giant Boeing and irrigation supplies manufacturer Orbit, also a Utah company.

Meanwhile in Kentucky, TV station WKYT says that food packaging company Anchor Packaging are establishing operations in Mt. Vernon, that will eventually bring 150 new jobs to the company as part of a $7.6m investment.
