US: Chrysler hires 1,250 in Michigan, Sitel adds 100 in Las Vegas

Chrysler and Fiat chief executive Sergio Marchionne today confirmed Chrysler’s plans to hire 1,250 workers and invest $240m (£151m) at three Michigan plants so it can ramp up production of its engines and pickups.

All of the jobs announced today will be new ones because Chrysler doesn’t have any workers who are laid off, the company said.

Meanwhile, global customer care provider Sitel is adding 100 jobs to its customer call centre in Las Vegas.

NHS Trust plans to cut jobs and agency staff

The BBC reports today [30 April 2025] that the North-West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is planning job cuts, as well as cutting its expenditure on bank and agency staff.
