One in five public sector IT contract vacancies disappeared over the third quarter, while permanent vacancies remained static, says new research.

According to Computer People’s Q3 report into the IT jobs market, there was an 85% growth in IT telecoms jobs, however, driven by Olympic demand.

Retail recruitment was surprisingly strong, with an increase of 31% in the number of advertised contract vacancies in Q3.
