Life insurance firms across Taiwan are due to give the country a significant boost to its labour market by creating 16,000 jobs.

This is according to a report by native economic news site CENS.com, which reports that this comes after negotiations between government body the Insurance Bureau of Taiwan and industry association the Life Insurance Association.

A total of 30 companies are due to take on new hires, the vast majority of which will be salespeople, with the largest hiring reported to be Nan Shan Life, with 3,700 jobs.
