This figure is according to the Daily Mirror newspaper. ‘A Future That Works’, organised by The Trades Union Congress (TUC), will see the march assemble on the Victoria Embankment and head through central London past Parliament to Hyde Park.

According to the event’s website, “for the next five years or more, unless policies change the economy will not grow, incomes will not rise, and there will be almost no new jobs”.

The march comes the same week that Office for National Statistics data showed the number of people employed in the UK had reached an historic high of almost 30m.
