Contracts/Deals: plusHR gets outsourcing contract for m-commerce venture
Project Oscar, an m-commerce [mobile-commerce] joint venture between Everything Everywhere, O2 and Vodafone, is to outsource various HR and payroll services including recruitment to plusHR.
Project Oscar is a scheme that is creating an alternative to cash, credit cards and loyalty for in-store shopping.
The HR outsourcing company was chosen from a 15-strong shortlist as the project looks to increase staff from 40 to 150 over the year at its London base.
Heather Wootton, HR lead, Project Oscar, says: “By virtue of starting as a joint venture rather than a typical start-up, we found ourselves to be a sizeable organisation from day one, with no time to grow slowly.
“We had an urgent and immediate need to put into place an HR management foundation and a structure within which to build corporate values and ethos, but in a way that defined Project Oscar as distinct from its parent companies.”
Sharon Crooks, HR services director, plusHR, adds: “Having the right people in place quickly is critical, and supporting them with best practice HR will ensure they are performing at their best. We are privileged to work with Project Oscar in this ground-breaking new sector.”
