Women still suffering from discrimination

Favouritism towards male employees is rife in the workplace, according to a new survey.

The survey, from employment lawyers Peninsula, showed that 74% of female employees have suffered some form of discrimination in the workplace.
It also found that 86% of female employees think favouritism towards their male counterparts was widespread and 46% use their gender to their advantage at work.

Peter Done, managing director of Peninsula, said: “Some of the record tribunal payouts are to sexual discrimination cases. I’m amazed that in today’s society discrimination against any minority, religion or belief still occurs. Company bosses are the first form of prevention when it comes to preventing sexual discrimination. All workers should be treated equally, whether at the job interview or on the job.”
