What’s your story?
Ed Percival, business coach
What’s your story? What’s the story you tell about yourself? The story that lives in you about yourself becomes true and will hold you in place.
What do you hear other people say about themselves?
- I’ve never been creative
- I have been told that I have no ambition
- I’ve never been able to make a major sale
What’s the story you tell others about you? You’re probably not conscious about the habitual story you tell.
Get conscious! Wake up at the back there!
If you were listening to that story, what would you think about the person who told that story about themselves? Penny dropped yet?
If this is beginning to make sense, then you’re probably wondering what you can do now to change things. The good news is it’s easy to make a small change.
Consciously compose a new story. For instance,
- Until now, I have always thought that I was not creative. But I realise that the new system I suggested last week is going to be very helpful and it’s a very good example of me being creative.
Now you can feel free about staying conscious of the story you tell.
Allow yourself to upgrade the story when you’ve outgrown the old one.
