When does fact become fantasy?

Is it just me, or is the ‘Diary of’ section in SmallTalk becoming more fantasy than fact? We read about recruiters hitting record sales figures, winning global contracts, taking on massive new leases — last month someone celebrated a ‘best year of trading to date’.

While I value some cheerful optimism, I doubt that many of us could say that 2008 has been our best year ever.
