Turnover up at NES

Turnover increased by 13% in global technical, engineering, rail and IT engineering services recruiter NES Group’s results for the year ended 31 October 2009.

Turnover increased by 13% in global technical, engineering, rail and IT engineering services recruiter NES Group’s results for the year ended 31 October 2009.

The group’s turnover was £286m, while gross profit grew by 7% to £33.4m and operating profit year-on-year rose to £12.02m.

The group attributes expansion across the globe as a major factor in its growth. It opened new offices in China in 2009 and plans to open further offices in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Abu Dhabi.

Neil Tregarthen, chief executive of NES Group, says: “During the worst recession for 50 years, we’re one of a handful of staffing businesses in the world that has continued to grow revenues and profits and our clear strategy of becoming ever more specialist and global continues to reap rewards.

“This year will see the sixth consecutive year of investment in expanding our global office footprint since I arrived in 2004, as we continue to support our clients in all areas of their global operations.

“As market growth faltered in 2009 we had to preserve  our growth record by taking share from our competitors and our value proposition of, ‘guaranteed recruitment solutions, engineered from the global talent pool, by discipline specific consultants,’ has proved very compelling for our clients and candidates, alike.”
